This symposium is organized by the Cross Strait Interflow Prospect Foundation, founded on March 3, 1997. It is a non-partisan, non-profit and private research institution delicated to the study of cross-strait relations, foreign policy, global issues, international security and peace. The Foundation seeks to serve as a research platform linking government agencies, private enterprises and academic institutions in Taiwan. It also actively promotes cooperation and interchange with leading think tanks throughout the world, including those based in mainland China.
To accomplish the above-mentioned objectives, the Foundation engages in the following activities:
- Conducting analyses on cross-strait relations, foreign policy, global issues, international security and peace;
- Sponsoring or cosponsoring seminars, workshops and academic conferences;
- Inviting eminent scholars to visit Taiwan;
- Assisting local scholars and experts to visit internationally renowned universities, research centers and think tanks;
- Publish such publications as Prospect Quarterly, Views & Policies, Prospect Series and other research papers on crucial current issues.
